WE MAKE LEARNING FUN AT OUR SUMMER CAMP

We operate one of the most educational and fun summer camps in the Greater Philadelphia region. It's perfect for horse-crazy kids ages 7 and older, who get hands-on instruction on how to care for and ride horses.

Camp weeks for 2012 are the weeks of June 18th, July 9th, and August 6th

Each week is $500. Sign up for 2 or more weeks and receive the $450 per week rate.

Our Summer Camp includes:

Daily riding: Campers will participate in up to two hours of riding and horse handling in our spacious arenas.

Basic horse care: Campers will learn and practice how to tack and un-tack a horse, how to bathe a horse, how to braid a horse's mane for competition, and how to wrap legs to prepare for safe travel.

Safety: Campers will practice safe emergency dismounts, and how to safely lead a difficult horse. They will practice training techniques (back up, neck rein, side step).

Games: Campers will play a variety of games to reinforce learning and fun!

Arts and Crafts: Campers will learn now to paint obstacles that horses jump, and decorate horse shoes. Campers will be tested on the body parts of the horse with fun painting exercises.

WHAT CAMPERS NEED:

Campers will need:

1. An ASTM-certified equestrian riding helmet.

Campers with their own helmet are encouraged to bring it. The farm maintains loaner helmets that are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

2. Jeans or riding breeches. No shorts!

3. Riding boots, paddock boots, or shoes with a boot-like heel. No sneakers may be worn while mounted. No flip-flops or sandals may be worn on the property at any time.

4. To pack their own lunch each day except Fridays. The farm has a vending machine and soda machine. On Fridays the farm will provide lunch for all. Every day, the farm will provide a frozen treat after lunch.

5. To be picked up promptly after the conclusion of camp every day. Supervision is not provided after the conclusion of each session and campers may not remain at the farm unattended unless they have a lesson immediately following camp.
